Supporting the Australian Curriculum, this 3-year longitudinal study implemented engineering education across grades 4-6 in several state and private schools. Students were introduced to the various fields of engineering, investigated authentic interdisciplinary problems focusing on design processes and problem solving, and generated significant mathematical and scientific ideas. Outcomes include developments in students’ learning from an engineering-based perspective, together with classroom resources that illustrate how engineering education can be implemented within, and enhance, the Australian Curriculum.
