BSRG attend 2019 Spine Society of Australia Conference

Dr J. Paige Little, BSRG Senior Research Fellow, Invited Special Session Speaker

The BSRG had a good showing at the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Spine Society of Australia conference held at the Gold Coast April 5-7. Masters Student Dr Hardy Jennings, Spine Fellow Dr Deb Lees, BSRG Postdoc Fellow Dr Caroline Grant and BSRG Spine Orthopaedic Surgeon Dr Simon Gatehouse all gave Podium presentations of their work as well as the team having four Poster presentations accepted.  Our own Dr Paige Little was one of four invited speakers at a Session entitled, “Shining a Light on Women in Spine – featuring thought leaders from surgery, academia and industry,” which was very well received and shone light on their individual pathways and challenges during their journeys to becoming leaders in their fields in the area of Spine.  The meeting is always well attended by both surgeons and researchers with over 340 registrants this year including an increasing number of international visitors. The second ‘Clayton Adam Award’ sponsored by the SSA in honour of our colleague Prof. Clayton Adam was awarded to Dr Kyle Sheldrick who presented, “A new MRI technique for diagnosing intervertebral disc degeneration.”
