Healthcare drives QUT's World Ranking success

The latest global ranking of academic subjects by RAWU (Shanghai Ranking) for 2024 were released in November.

In the subject of Biomedical Engineering – QUT is now ranked #16 in the world as well securing the top spot in Australia. An achievement that reinforces the role of QUT as the university of choice for both staff and students who are keen to impact the future of healthcare and the quality of life of people all over the world.

The BSRG team has played our part in this achievement as was highlighted in this news story.

“We are helping children with spinal deformities; we are partnering with industry leaders such as Sealy Australia to create new design criteria for commercial mattresses to improve our health while we sleep.”

Centre for Biomedical Technologies Deputy Director and BSRG Research Director, Associate Professor Paige Little said the ranking recognised QUT as a global leader in academic excellence and research impact in Biomedical Engineering.

“This ranking is evidence of the excellent calibre of our academic faculty and the status quo research facilities we support,” Associate Professor Little said.
