In June 2019, Prof Peter Pivonka received a prestigious UPE Visiting Fellowship to present a seminar series on “Disease Systems Analysis – Application to Osteoporosis” at the University Paris Est (UPE). As part of this visit Peter was able to continue his collaboration with Prof Vittorio Sansalone and PhD student Madge Martin. Madge is currently in her final year of PhD studies which is a cotutelle between QUT and UPE. She spent one year at QUT to develop simulation algorithms for bone remodeling together with assigning an experimental protocol for extraction of vertebral bone cores and subsequent imaging.
