Background
The Youth Research Forum (YRF) is a state government initiative driven by the Department of Environment and Science. YRF provides an opportunity for young Queenslanders to be involved in setting priorities and selecting research projects that matter to them. In 2022 QUT was awarded a $200,000 grant which has been split across two cohorts, Semester 2 of 2022 and Semester 1 of 2023. The QUT YRF was led in partnership with CFE, Innovation Central Brisbane, QUT Entrepreneurship, and QUT’s School of Biology and Science.
The QUT YRF focused on designing for future food – food innovations that are human-friendly and carbon neutral. The program includes a three-phase, structured ideation-to-prototype program:
