Day Two of the Asia-Pacific Symposium seeks to address designing for health, focused on aged care and the redesign of healthcare systems. Hear presentations from international design researchers, practitioners, and clinicians from QUT Creative Industries, the National University of Singapore, Monash University, University of Technology Sydney and Clinical Excellence Queensland, as well as community advocates. Each session ends with a 20-30 minute interactive panel Q&A, facilitated by the session chair.

SESSION 4A: HEALTHCARE EXCELLENCE BY DESIGN, CO-HOSTED BY CLINICAL EXCELLENCE QUEENSLAND
In this session, conference attendees will hear about and then actively engage in co-designing six projects submitted to the 2019 Clinical Excellence Queensland Showcase, an initiative which brings clinicians, consumers, health service managers and others together to explore the best healthcare solutions Queensland has to offer. From healthcare improvement, staff wellbeing, rural, remote and Indigenous health, virtual and augmented reality, and patient-centred care, attendees will be invited to discuss and refine project ideas in this hands-on co-design session, led by Clinical Excellence Queensland and the QUT Design Lab.

This afternoon session, chaired by Shy Tay (Practice Director at Arkhefield & Committee Member for Places for Ageing), delves into emerging and future versions of care, from the perspective of designers, age care providers, community organizations, researchers and policymakers. Exploring what age care could look like in the future is critical to developing innovation design of healthy spaces for ageing.
