This initial event will be a Cisco hosted virtual event in Cisco local state offices as Cisco sets out its intent to bring together the transport hub leads for ANZ. Our goal will be to find common ground for innovative thinking for the future of airports as part of Cisco’s Country Digital Acceleration program.

Meet the speakers

Prof Michael Rosemann | Director, QUT’s Centre for Future Enterprise

Dr Michael Rosemann is the Director of QUT’s Centre for Future Enterprise and a Professor for Information Systems at QUT. His areas of interest are innovation systems, process and trust management. Dr Rosemann is the author/editor of nine books, more than 350 refereed papers, Editorial Board member of ten international journals and co-inventor of US patents. His publications have been translated into Russian, Mandarin, German and Portuguese. His latest book ‘The New Learning Economy’ (with Martin Betts) proposes six innovative strategic pathways for providers of future learning services. One of the four industry funded chairs he established at QUT was the Brisbane Airport Corporation Chair in Airport Innovation. Dr. Rosemann was one of the Chief Investigators of the ‘Airports of the Future project’, the largest ARC Linkage project ever awarded in Australia. Michael is a frequent, global keynote speaker and provides advice to senior executives across all industries with a focus on creating a sense of ambition and a higher opportunity appetite. His research projects received funding from industry partners such as Accenture, Australia Post, Cisco, Infosys, PwC, Rio Tinto, SAP, Suncorp and Woolworths. Michael is also the Honorary Consul for the Federal Republic of Germany in Southern Queensland.

 

Dr. Nadine Ostern | Cisco Chair in Trusted Retail

Dr Nadine Ostern leads a team of researchers at QUT focusing on identifying contemporary, tech-enabled trust opportunities across various industries, including retail and finance. Her research specifically focuses on designing trust experiences (TX design) and strategies in data- and technology-enabled environments, including AI, blockchain, and video analytics. Nadine previously held various academic roles in Europe, including at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, the Technical University of Darmstadt, and Bern University of Applied Sciences. Nadine studied Business Administration and Economics in Germany at Goethe University Frankfurt and the University of Freiburg. Her doctoral thesis, conducted at the University of Freiburg, is titled ‘Distributed Ledgers for the Prevention of Accounting Fraud.’ Nadine’s research has been published in leading academic journals, including Information & Management and Business & Information Systems Engineering, and is regularly presented at renowned conferences in the field of information systems and management, such as the International Conference on Information Systems, the European Conference on Information Systems, and the Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management.

 

Reg Johnson | Director, Education and Strategic Industries ANZ, Cisco

Reg has over 25 years’ experience in the ICT industry in professional sales and marketing management and business and industry development. Reg was appointed in 2017 as an Adjunct Professor at Victoria University Business School and recently received the ARN personal innovation sales excellence award in recognition of his contribution to innovation and digital transformation.

  • Accountable for Australia and New Zealand education strategy, programs, sales and partner enablement and sales pull-through
  • Orchestration and facilitation of virtual teams aligned to global and ANZ strategy
  • Design and management of Cisco’s senior executive study tours
  • Management of specialist resources and external partners/suppliers
  • Member of Cisco World Wide Education and Healthcare Teams
  • Member of Asia Pacific Education Practice
  • Leads education vertical (universities, vocational education and K-12 sectors) in Cisco’s Digital Transformation Office

Harsha Hewapathirane | Director Commercial Sales Australia, Cisco

Harsha is responsible for the leadership, strategy and business operations of Cisco’s national sales organisation into the Australian private sector across all industries.
