Erwin Fielt is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Information Systems of the Faculty of Science at QUT. In his research and teaching, he focuses on the intersection between business and IT where new technologies and applications have to create value for organizations and individuals, focussing on innovation, strategy and business models. Examples of some specific topics he is currently studying are data-driven business models, AI governance, and digital industrial platforms.

Erwin Fielt has experience across a range of industries as researcher, consultant and practitioner. Erwin Fielt has presented and published his research at national and international outlets to practitioners and academia, including the Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of Strategic Information Systems, Information & Management, Business & Information Systems Engineering, Government Information Quarterly, and Journal of Business Venturing Insights. He has a PhD (Information Systems) from the Delft University of Technology and a MSc (Industrial Engineering and Management) from the University of Twente, both in the Netherlands,

In addition to his research and teaching, Erwin Fielt's current roles include:

  • Academic Lead Learning & Teaching and member of the Executive Team at the School of Information Systems.
  • Co-lead of the Algorithmic Enterprise theme at Centre for Future Enterprise, including a research collaboration with the KrcmarLab at the Technical University of Munich.
