Professor Per Davidsson made a tour of Europe at the height of the COVID-19 craze, among other things presenting his and Jan Gruenhagen’s review of the new venture creation process research at four universities. The first was House of Innovation at the Stockholm School of Economics, where Per also engaged in early-stage research collaboration about New Venture Ideas and their salient characteristics. Next stop was Jönköping International Business School (also Sweden) where Per has an affiliation and a couple of PhD students. The third presentation was at the TUM Entrepreneurship Research Institute in Munich. With four full professors, multiple Post Docs and some 15 PhD students in their own building dedicated to all things entrepreneurship, this is one of the most impressive entrepreneurship-focused academic environments in the world. Like ACE, they have Dean Shepherd as a frequent visitor. The final stop was at University of Stavanger in southern Norway, where Per is formally involved in a couple of funded research projects. Well, that presentation actually never happened because the university closed down the day before Per arrived, but some work on projects was achieved off campus. It still remains to be seen if he’ll make it back to Australia anytime soon – and by which route!
