Elsevier and the Editors of Journal of Business Venturing have recently awarded Dr Henri Burgers a ‘Certificate of Reviewing Excellence’. Only awarded once a year to a small hand-picked selection of reviewers, as identified by the journal Editors and Editor-in-Chiefs, this accolade is recognition of Dr Burgers hard work and contribution to the publication of scientific and medical research. As it were, this is not the first time his outstanding skills as a reviewer has been recognized in this manner. Congratulations Henri!
At the Academy of Management meeting in Philadelphia, Rene Bakker was presented with the Best Empirical Paper award from the ENT Division for his paper “When to ‘pull the plug’ and When to ‘take the plunge’: the timing of venturing decisions in a multi-opportunity context” (co-authored by ACE Adjunct Dean Shepherd and Per Davidsson). Congratulations to Rene on this fine achievement in very tough competition.
Congratulations “so far” also to Rob Perrons, whose proposal Learning from Platform Leaders: How Collaboration Models Used by Intel and Microsoft Can Help with Carbon Capture and Sequestration has been selected as one of six finalists in the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) “Grand Challenges” contest. Rob will go to Amsterdam in late October to pitch the concept in more detail to the SPE panel. Fingers crossed for making this “modest success” less modest by becoming one of the three winners!
Roxanne Zolin has received funding for the research proposal Senior Entrepreneurship in Australia: Active Ageing and Extending Working Lives from the National Seniors Productive Ageing Centre Research Grants. Congratulations to Roxanne for winning this grant on a very timely topic!
