Data science workshop for researchers + industry

Research + Industry data science workshop

ACEMS, the Australian Data Science Network, the QUT Centre for Data Science and Integrity Systems Company (ISC) have joined forces to co-host a data science workshop to explore the latest research in data integration, data quality and data management and visualisation, as well as challenges and opportunities highlighted by ISC and industry guests.

You will also learn about an upcoming integrity data hackathon which will provide an opportunity to apply knowledge and capabilities to key industry challenges and opportunities, such as improving supply chain traceability, compliance, biosecurity, or industry profitability, harnessing industry and other datasets.

The workshop presents various opportunities for students, researchers, and industry partners, to get involved, and share your research knowledge and outputs.

Workshop themes for presentations and research outputs

The workshop will include presentations from researchers and industry on key data science topics, and related industry challenges and opportunities in:

  • data quality and curation
  • data integration
  • data management and visualisation
  • dealing with non-traditional data
  • edge computing.

There will be a focus on methods, computational issues, and applications, particularly as relevant to industry.

Please register to receive Zoom details to attend the event online.

About Integrity Systems Company

For ISC, data is key to guaranteeing the integrity, safety, product traceability, and quality standards of its industry, from paddock to plate.  They have developed an industry platform to bring together all  datasets from the various integrity programs into one data lake, including on-farm assurance, animal identification and traceability. ISC is particularly interested in ideas and applications for supply chain optimisation, origin traceability, compliance, biosecurity, and risk identification and management, harnessing linked industry (and external, including non-traditional) data.
