Vision

We produce data-focused solutions to pressing, complex problems that arise from working with, understanding, and managing the environment, agriculture and natural systems. We strive to achieve real-world environmental impact and become a go-to community of experts in Queensland for data-focused solutions to pressing challenges arising from the environment, agriculture and natural systems.

Our research focuses on developing theory, methods and frameworks for analysing complex data from environmental, agricultural and natural systems across many scales, and using data to drive decision-making for management of these integrated systemsThis translates to real world improvements in sustainability and productivity, enhancements to ecosystem services, process improvements; and refined understandings of fundamental processes.

We work closely with discipline experts and policy-makers to develop new methods to solve real, pressing problems arising from environmental systems and humans’ interactions with them. These include threatened charismatic ecosystems like the Great Barrier Reef and Antarctic terrestrial and marine systems.
