Danae is a Master of Philosophy student studying the regulation of workplace surveillance in Australia, with a particular focus on AI-enabled monitoring technologies. Drawing on her background in human resource management, business and employment law, Danae’s research takes a multi-disciplinary approach to shed light on the legal and ethical implications of advanced surveillance practices in Australian workplaces. Her thesis explores the adequacy of existing regulatory frameworks in addressing the unique challenges posed by AI-driven employee monitoring systems. Through comprehensive analysis of legislation, case law, and policy documents, Danae seeks to identify gaps in current regulations and propose forward-thinking solutions that balance employer interests with employee privacy rights.
