Ted is completing his PhD at the QUT Centre for Robotics (QCR) on collaborative lunar surface exploration in partnership with CSIRO Robotics through the CSIRO Indigenous Graduate Research Fellowship. He hopes to develop methodologies that allow teams of robotic explorers to better collaborate during terrain traversal in this and other extreme unstructured environments. Prior to joining QCR, he was a visiting student researcher at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. Where he developed a sonar-based obstacle detection and avoidance system for the Bouyant Rover for Under-Ice Exploration, affectionately known as BRUIE.
