Dr. Sasha Lynn is a registered psychologist (clinical endorsement) who specialises in child and adolescent development, with a particular focus on social emotional learning (SEL) and mental health in education.

Her research explores how mental health and wellbeing impact on positive learning and holistic development, specifically looking at how to embed SEL into the curriculum. Sasha focuses on applied and translational research, utilising mixed methods to explore efficacious SEL implementation practices, and empowering teachers and other stakeholders to support children and adolescents through evidence-based interventions. She is particularly interested in the use of gamification, AR/VR and digital media to support SEL and mental health practices, and in the use of compassion focused therapeutic approaches to wellbeing.

Sasha has spent a number of years working within multi-disciplinary research labs, spanning psychology, education, cognition and neuroscience to translate research into meaningful practices for schools, having previously worked for nearly 20 years in school settings. Thus, she brings a keen understanding of the realities of school life to her research. She specialises in intervention development, evident through the highly successful interventions KooLKIDS and Mindfields HS, in collaboration with Professor Annemaree Carroll, both achieving commercial success.
