Richie Young is a Senior Learning Designer at QUT and is passionate about enhancing meaningful civic engagement and social justice through education. He holds a PhD in History from the University of Melbourne focusing on the role of American comic books in shaping civic identity and social responsibility. Richie has worked in higher education since 2013, first as a lecturer and tutor and then as a learning and educational designer, with a particular focus on promoting learner engagement. He currently manages the design and development of QUT You, an interdisciplinary new curriculum that is aimed at immersing students in new ideas to address social challenges and drive positive impact.
