As Australian cities grow in density, many building types – including schools – need to adapt to a vertical world. Vertical schools make the most of compact sites, accommodating spatial needs across one or two connected buildings. By providing engaging learning environments and integrating with local institutions, vertical schools foster a sense of connection to the city. Their design, involving student input, prioritises safety and thoughtful infrastructure, enhancing educational experiences while contributing to economic development and inclusive city planning.
