Research area:
Conceptual, formal, and technological foundations of Business Process Automation (e.g. BPM in the cloud) as well as Process Mining, specifically data quality, comparative performance analysis,  process risk analysis, and visualisation. Work in the area of process automation centers on the YAWL (Yet Another Workflow Language) open source workflow management system, which is based on the well-known Workflow Patterns Initiative. This system is used in industry and provides a test bed for the application of new research ideas.

More information about my research in process-data quality can be found at www.processdataquality.com.

Supervision:
Arthur is interested in students that would like to contribute to research in the areas of business process automation and process mining. Of particular current interest are the topics of data quality and data governance.

Alignment with BEST:
In 2021, I started work with Dr. Ozan Isler and Prof. Uwe Dulleck on the link between (types of) behaviour and the creation of particular data quality problems. I am interested in combining my research in the areas of process mining and (process) data quality to the behavioural research of the Centre.
