Researchers from the School of Optometry and Vision Science recently spent two weeks in far north Queensland conducting eye examinations in schools. This project, in collaboration with the Head of QUT’s School of Justice Professor John Scott aims to develop sustainable, community-driven models of eye care in remote locations to ensure good eye health for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children. Support for the study was provided by Bamaga Enterprises Ltd, CheckUP Australia, OneSight, and a QUT Health-Law research grant.
