I am interested in innovative techniques to transform low-grade mineral resources, including natural clay minerals and industrial mineral wastes, into value-added products such as functional building materials. These materials encompass sustainable and performance-enhanced concrete, clay bricks, and lightweight fire-resistant gypsum boards.
The deep processing of minerals/ores is pivotal for Australia, leveraging the country’s abundant geological resources to achieve substantial economic benefits. Moreover, the sustainable utilisation of mineral resources is essential for promoting long-term economic development.
My work aims to benefit both the mining and construction sectors in Australia, enabling the construction of buildings with high-quality, long-lasting materials with a reduced carbon footprint at a competitive cost.
