I am interested in geotechnical materials characterisation (e.g. reactive/expansive soil) from multiscale levels. The size effect is an important aspect when the materials are described and crucial for engineering applications.
My work aims to benefit the engineering practitioners to (i) better understand the thermos-hydro-mechanical coupling behaviour of geomaterials (ii) achieve cost-saving and (iii) use more reliable engineering design.
