QCMS Researchers Awarded ARC Industry Fellowships for Materials Innovation

Two early-career researchers from the QUT Centre for Materials Science Australian Research Council are recipients of (ARC) Early Career Industry Fellowships to lead innovative, industry-connected projects.

Dr Tatheer Zahra will partner with Brickworks Building Products to develop a smart, AI-optimised interlocking masonry system aimed at addressing climate change, labour shortages, and housing affordability. Her project will design a prefabricated masonry walling system that is easy to install and low-carbon—bringing sustainable construction one step closer to the mainstream.

Dr Minh Tam Hoang will collaborate with Halocell Australia to pioneer lead-free, environmentally friendly perovskite solar cells. His project aims to improve the safety, stability, and scalability of next-generation solar technologies using green solvents and bio-based materials—supporting Australia’s transition to a cleaner energy future.

These projects reflect our strong commitment to high-impact research and collaboration with industry to accelerate innovation. We look forward to reporting on the outcomes and impact these projects deliver! Congratulations!
