BREAKING NEWS: Education Horizon Grant project announced
Queensland Education Minister Grace Grace announced today that the Palaszczuk Government has invested $1 million into 14 important education research projects being conducted at Queensland universities – 10 of which are being led by women, one of them being our Centre Leader Associate Professor Kate Williams. Kate along with colleagues Susan Irvine, Kerryann Walsh, Michael Hogan, Lori Lockyer, Ottmar Lipp and Lyra L’Estrange are leading the project Translating neuroscience to early childhood education: A roadmap for Queensland, which aims to understand how knowledge from neuroscience can be translated to influence the practice of early childhood educators and teachers. The research team is currently conducting a rapid desktop review of the literature and initial teacher education curriculum, policy mapping, and stakeholder engagement with the aim to develop a neuroscience evidence‐to‐practice roadmap for the ECE sector in Queensland (birth to school entry). The findings from this project will significantly benefit the development, learning, and well-being of Queensland children.
