Title: Novel Machine Learning Approaches to Complex Panels of Longitudinal Administrative Data for Enhanced Predictive Modelling
Services Australia is a federal government agency that is responsible for administering social security services and providing welfare across Australia. Predictive modelling has a strong potential to solve business problems that arise in the Agency. One of the simplest, but also critical aspects of business functioning in this agency and many other corporate settings is the consideration of customer traffic. Being able to predict whether a customer will contact the agency can be an invaluable form of information that allows business executives to make data-driven decisions. The agency collects an astronomical amount of administrative longitudinal data in a panel format. Hence, the current research investigates the use of machine learning and novel deep learning approaches on this type of data to maximise the effectiveness of predictive modelling customer contacts in a real-world, enterprise scenario.
