Joy (Yue) Wang is a current PhD student in the School of Computer Science, supported by the CDS and Oracle scholarship. Her thesis focuses on gathering and analysing open-source data from social media to detect actionable Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) that can aid the cybersecurity community to improve their cyber-defending practice and incident response. The outcome of her thesis would help the cybersecurity community to reduce the risks associated with potential cyber-attacks. Her current work focuses on developing neural topic models to discover cyber threat-related events from Twitter.
Her research interests include Deep Learning, Open-Source Threat Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, social media analysis, and Data Visualization.
