We are excited to announce our upcoming Accessible Assessment Forum: Phase 2 Results on 06 October. In the forum, researchers from the Accessible Assessment ARC Linkage project will share the outcomes of two professional learning programs targeted at increasing secondary school teachers’ use of Accessible Pedagogies and Assessment for Learning practices.
Supporting all learners requires classroom instruction that minimises cognitive load while fostering students’ understanding of what they need to do to succeed. Everyday classroom practices that achieve these two aims are important for everyone, but particularly beneficial for students with language and/or attentional difficulties.
In the forum, researchers from the Accessible Assessment ARC Linkage project will share the outcomes of two professional learning programs targeted at increasing secondary school teachers’ use of Accessible Pedagogies and Assessment for Learning practices. The forum will show how these classroom practices can support student learning and engagement, and will report on students’ experiences and outcomes. Approaches to sustaining and upscaling these effective practices within school departments and between schools will also be discussed.
The research team will be presenting initial findings from the project, along with our partners:
- Benowa, Kedron, and Macgregor State High Schools,
- Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA),
- QLD Secondary School Principals Association, and
- Speech Pathology Australia.
Registrations have now closed for this event.
