Congratulations to QUT optometry students Jana, Amelia, Hannah and Natasha on their winning presentation as part of the Master of Optometry research projects. The group investigated the effects of automobile window tinting on night vision and pedestrian discrimination, under the supervision of Dr. Alex Black and Prof. Joanne Wood. Their findings identified the negative impacts of increasing window tinting at night on different aspects of night-time visibility, and informs further research is this area. The winning group was selected by a panel of QUT academics, with a total of 12 research groups presenting via Zoom to a large audience of students and staff within the School of Optometry & Vision Science.
Here they are accepting their prizes from Melinda Toomey (President) and Cathryn Baker (CEO) of Optometry Australia QLD/NT.
