A digital portal (also called a web portal) is a specifically designed website or App that gathers information into a single place (one stop shop) on a particular topic.
A portal is a gateway and digital portals provide links and directions to multiple sources of information from a single site. Portals can contain interactive tools such as dashboards, calculators, libraries, indexes or passive tools such as content and links to resources. Portals rely on up to date content which can be labour intensive however new technologies such as aggregators that automatically seek out news, videos or content and bring it to the site are more effective.
