Born in Korea, raised in France, and happily Australian since 2013, I am a proud citizen of the world with no borders!
I completed my undergraduate studies in Paris and part of my postgraduate degrees at Swinburne University in Melbourne, gaining research experience in galaxy interactions and evolution. Alongside academia, I acquired extensive experience in education and science outreach through roles in planetariums, where I developed robotics workshops and astronomy programs for vision-impaired communities, as well as volunteering with programs such as CSIRO STEM Professionals in Schools.
Now at QUT on an Australian Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship, I am completing my research degree under the supervision of Dr. Michael Cowley. My project focuses on determining the minimum observational requirements needed to reliably derive key galaxy properties, particularly redshift, star formation histories, and active galactic nuclei characteristics. With the data deluge from current and upcoming wide-field surveys such as the Evolutionary Map of the Universe, I aim to optimise scientific returns with minimal photometry, enabling efficient processing of the millions of sources expected.
Passionate about the universe, scientific exploration, and education, I’m excited to be part of QUT’s vibrant Astrophysics Research Group and contribute for as long as they’ll have me!
