
Rossana is a Cosmologist studying the Universe on the largest scales, mapping millions of galaxies to investigate dark energy and the early physics of the cosmos. She plays a key role in major international projects, including the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI), the Vera Rubin Observatory (LSST), and the Dark Energy Survey (DES). Previously, she led research with the Sloan Digital Sky Survey.
Beyond research, Rossana is passionate about science communication, engaging audiences through media, public talks, and outreach events. She is a strong advocate for diversity in STEM, working with initiatives to support underrepresented groups in academia. She also serves on the Early Career Chapter committee of the Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA) and the Wellbeing Ambassador Program at UQ, promoting career development and researcher wellbeing.
