Outreach: Visit to St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School

As part of the QUT Astrophysics Research Group’s outreach and engagement initiatives, Dr Michael Cowley recently visited the Year 5/6 class at St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School to speak about the benefits of space science. The session introduced students to the role of astrophysics in advancing technology and improving our understanding of the universe.

The students were highly engaged throughout the visit and asked a wide range of questions, from how we study distant planets to what it is like to work as a scientist. Such engagement highlights the importance of curiosity and critical thinking in scientific discovery.

QUT thanks the staff and students of St Joseph’s for their interest and hospitality.
