During the mid-semester break, the QUT Astrophysics Research Group spent some time with high-achieving high school students to teach them about the transit method of exoplanetary discovery. The students used imaging software on real data from telescopes to apply this technique and make calculations of exoplanet parameters, in an effort to hunt for new planets and search for extra-terrestrial life!
