Inclusive Mobility

Past projects to cognitively support mobility have focused on accessing public transport, leveraging availability or real-time route information in the Brisbane transport network (Translink). We have started exploring what inclusive driving could mean for people with intellectual disability if vehicle automation technology was to provide cognitive support in a semi-autonomous fashion.

PhD student Sean Baek is currently investigating vision-language models to support wayfinding in indoor environments to provide cognitive guidance through augmented reality headsets or assistive social robots. If you would like to participate, you can learn more about his study here.
