Dr. Tshering Dema is an early career researcher in Sustainable HCI and environmental conservation design studies. She is interested in codesign of new technologies with communities and children for better nature engagement and environmental sustainability. Her research work draws upon qualitative methods from Human-Computer Interaction to understand context of technology use and design of digital technologies with young children in early childhood centres for nurturing love and care for nature.
Currently, Tshering works at QUT node research team project titled ‘Engaging the Digital Child with the Wonders of Nature, e-Science and the Outdoors’.
Area of research: Human-Computer Interaction, Participatory Design, Interaction Design, Co-Design, Ubiquitous Computing, Socio-technical Systems.
