
Barbara has worked in the development sector in various programs and research projects. She has a Master of International Public Health (University of Sydney) and a Bachelor of Communication Arts (Divine Word University, PNG). Barbara’s research interest include health communication, gender, gender-based violence, Covid-19 and arts-based research with a PNG and Pacific emphasis.
Barbara’s PhD research will investigate how indigenous women in PNG interpret and use health messaging, particularly in the recent pandemic – COVID-19. Arts-based methodology and participatory action research will be employed for this study.
