About our keynote speaker
Dr Brad Walsh is the founder and CEO of Minomic International Ltd and GlyTherix Ltd. He has a PhD in protein chemistry and has led research groups in government agencies, universities and hospitals. Dr Walsh was a key part of the establishment of the APAF, a major national research facility, before forming Minomic in 2007. He has a long history of commercialisation success; he raised over A$28 million to commercialise Minomic’s first major product, MiCheck Prostate. His products are sold by major corporations, including Bio-Rad Laboratories. Dr Walsh shared the Eureka Prize in 2015 for excellence in Interdisciplinary Scientific Research. He was also on the AusBiotech NSW committee for many years, and is strong supporter of internship opportunities for students, serving as an Industry Mentoring Network in STEM mentor since 2017.
