Each year up to 100 people from a diverse range of professions and institutions around Australia are selected to join the Bridge Program, delivered by QUT and the Bridge Program consortium partners. In partnership with a consortium of industry and university partners, Bridge Program participants join one of the country’s most significant pharmaceutical and biotech professional networks.
The program will help you gain knowledge and confidence, as well as creating networks and opportunities in all areas of pharmaceutical research commercialisation. You will learn through online modules, attend an inspiring seminar series, network with top pharma companies, be part of our flagship 3-day Symposium and join a and a nation-wide professional biotech commercialisation community.

Who should apply and what are the costs?
Up to 100 participants are selected annually from across Australia. The program is targeted to mid-career professionals but can also include early and later professionals seeking to expand their commercialisation knowledge and networks, including:
- researchers
- scientists
- entrepreneurs
- legal practitioners (including IP and patents)
- clinicians
- venture capitalists
- business development personnel
- regulatory and government agencies professionals
A pharmaceutical or biotech background and a demonstrated interest in commercialisation is essential.
You should apply if you are based in Australia or New Zealand and:
- are looking to gain the skills, business acumen and networks to enhance your biotech, drug or vaccine research through to market in Australia
- want to enhance your commercialisation and pitching skills to effectively communicate with industry
- are available to attend our three-day Symposium event held in second half of 2026.
Course fees are $550 for participants from Bridge Program Partner Universities*, $650 for participants from all other institutes/universities/science organisations/academia and $750 for those from government or industry. Fees are exclusive of GST. At the end of the course, given that all course requirements have been completed, participants will receive a Bridge Completion Certificate and be placed into the alumni network, with ongoing access to all online modules as well as peer and industry group contacts and invitations to future Bridge events.

Application outcome notification and program start: early March
Symposium: tentatively in second half of the year, in QLD. Participants will be notified of date, and travel to this event is self-funded by participants.
