Lydia Manieson is currently a PhD candidate and a sessional academic in the School of Design. Her research centres on the circular economy and consumer practices within the apparel and fashion industry. She holds a master’s degree in Fashion Business Creation from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. Lydia worked as a fashion designer in Ghana, West Africa. She also worked briefly in the UK with Marks and Spencer, PLAN A team.
Her current work explores fashion’s circular economy models through understanding wearers perception of clothing value and its impact on decision-making processes. She also has research interest in the flow of post-consumer textile from the Global West to the Global South along with its social, environmental, and economic consequences.
