Professor Zoran Ristovski’s visited the Jinan University in Guangzhou, China, from 2-9 July 2025. During his stay, Prof. Ristovski engaged in academic and cultural exchange with JNU and the ACC-AQSM Secretariat.
On the 5 July, Prof. Ristovski conducted a field expedition to Shaoguan, Guangdong. The expedition focused on the Danxia landform, part of the Nanling ecological barrier, to assess how forest emissions and human activities affect regional air quality. The expedition was supported by Jinan University’s Guangdong Provincial Observation and Research Station for Atmospheric Environment and Carbon Neutrality in Nanling Forests, and Innovation Base for Air Quality Science and Management for Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Greater Bay Area.
The next day, Prof. Ristovski with Prof. Jian Gao (CRAES), Prof. Hai Guo (Hong Kong Poly U), Dr. Congrong He (QUT) and Prof. Hao Wang (Jinan U), had the ACC-AQSM Executive Committee meeting to advance the preparations for the 9th Annual Meeting of the Australia-China Centre for Air Quality Science and Management (ACC-AQSM). Preliminary discussions on the conference dates, locations, and themes took place, as well as the committee reviewed the progress of the ACC-AQSM ICA renewal. 13 of 16 institutions have already completed the signing process with 3 new institutions from Australia and 2 from China joining the Centre.
Additionally, Prof. Ristovski and Prof. Hao Wang have submitted a National Foundation for Australia-China Relations 2025-26 Competitive Grants Program (30 June) to seek support for center’s future annual meetings and exchanges. Results will be notified after 18 weeks.
