Singapore Welcomes QUT Associate Professor Scott Read to Symposium, in July 2018

Associate Professor Scott Read, CLVOL Member and Director of Research in the School of Optometry and Vision Science at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia, was an invited international guest speaker at the Singapore Primary Eye Care Symposium 2018 (SPECS) held at One Farrer Hotel on 18-19 July 2018.

On Day 1 of the symposium, Associate Professor Read presented his research onNear work and MmopiaandLight exposure and myopia’. Day 2 of the symposium, saw Associate Professor Read deliver talks which highlighted his research onRetinal changes associated with myopia” andThe role of the choroid in myopia”. To reduce the progression of myopia, Associate Professor Read said that regardless of age, people should take regular short breaks from near work tasks and to embrace opportunities to venture outdoors into natural light.
