In 2018, seven medical areas have received research funding from the Rebecca Lillian Cooper Medical Research Foundation; These areas are: Brain Sciences: Psychiatry and Neurology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Lung Disease, Rheumatology and Vision Sciences. The foundation supports early-career researchers, with the specific objective of advancing, promoting and encouraging medical research in Australia.
On the 7th January, the Contact Lens and Visual Optics Lab (CLVOL) hosted 36 secondary school teachers from the National Science Teachers Summer School (NSTSS); and later that same week on Friday, 12th January, the lab hosted 45 high school students from the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF).
Research on lid wiper epitheliopathy received a coveted first prize award at the QUT Postgraduate Masters of Optometry Project Presentation on Thursday, 26 October 2017.
