Dr Shovanur Haque is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Ecosystem Change and Population Health (ECAPH) research group at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Dr Haque received her PhD in Statistics from the School of Mathematical Science, QUT in 2018. Previously Shovanur worked in statistical roles at key government agencies: the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Queensland Department of Environment and Science. As an Associate Lecturer in the School of Mathematical Sciences at QUT, Shovanur gained experience in teaching and coordinating undergraduate and postgraduate units and supervising advanced project in Master of Data Analytics. Her research experience includes statistical and mathematical modelling and computation with applications to diverse fields such as environment, health, census, and geography.

Shovanur’s research interest includes Statistical modelling, Spatial and Spatio-temporal analysis, Bayesian statistics, Machine Learning. Her current research focuses on the empirical evidence and spatiotemporal modelling to investigate the influence of environmental change on infectious disease transmission dynamics and develop solutions to improve disease surveillance and early warning systems based on climate, environmental factors and dynamic spatiotemporal models.
