Sajjad Chamani is a PhD candidate in the Allergy Research Group at the Centre for Immunology and infection control at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia. He started at QUT at the beginning of 2024, under the supervision of Professor Janet Davies.
Sajjad graduated from the Mashhad university of medical science (Iran) with a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and has a Master’s degree of Immunology from Birjand University of Medical Science.
His PhD project focuses on “biogeographical variation in inhalant allergen sensitization patterns in patients with allergic rhinitis across Australia”, to investigate and explain environmental factors including weather and greenness indices, that may be related to biogeographical variation in levels and frequency of allergen sensitisation in patients with allergic rhinitis, with and without asthma. Sajjad received a faculty scholarship and QUT international HDR tuition fee sponsorship for tuition fees.
Prior to joining Allergy Research Group, he participated in different projects related to Allergic disorders (Allergic rhinitis, Food Allergy, Contact Dermatitis), Cancer, autoimmune diseases, and virus infection.
