
Dhrubajyoti Das is a first-year PhD student in the Allergy Research Group at the Centre for Immunology and Infection Control, Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane, Australia. He is also affiliated with the QUT Centre for Robotics.
Dhruba’s doctoral research focuses on identifying and monitoring flowering events in subtropical and temperate Australian grasses using computer vision and deep learning techniques. This work aims to enhance pollen forecasting, advance the field of aerobiology, and ultimately support improved public health outcomes for individuals affected by allergic rhinitis and asthma.
He is supervised by a multidisciplinary team: Professor Janet Davies, CIIC Allergy Group Leader (School of Biomedical Sciences), Professor Michael Milford (School of Electrical Engineering and Robotics), and Dr. Andelija Milic (School of Biomedical Sciences).
Prior to commencing his PhD at QUT, Dhruba served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Premier University, Chattogram, Bangladesh. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Premier University.
