Automated Three-Dimensional Ultrasound Imaging Analysis of the Rotator Cuff

Claudia Bell is a PhD student investigating AI-enabled ultrasound imaging. Claudia studied Biomedical Science (BBSc) at QUT and a Master of Medical Research (MMR) at Griffith University. As a graduate, she has worked as a sessional academic within the Biomedical Science school. Claudia was fascinated by the possibilities of advanced ultrasound imaging to improve human biomechanics, motivating her to pursue a PhD. Throughout her PhD research, Claudia aims to develop AI algorithms that automate the compounding and analysis of ultrasound volumes of the rotator cuff. The results of Claudia’s work will contribute to the research team’s aim to develop a wearable ultrasound device that will enable real-time, dynamic assessment of the shoulder joint. Claudia enjoys watching true crime documentaries, reading a good book, and camping in her free time.
