Zeyu Lu is a synthetic biologist and metabolic engineer. He specialises in engineering genetic regulatory circuits in microbial cell factories to modulate cell growth and metabolism during precision fermentation. His current research focuses on applying the synthetic gene circuitries in the yeast S. cerevisiae to enhance production of useful secondary metabolites, particularly those plant-derived terpenoids with a wide range of applications as fragrances, food flavours, and pharmaceuticals.
