Dr Gauthier completed her PhD at the University of Queensland in 2010. She has worked in the field of marine genomics, metagenomics and clinical genomics, as well as in diagnostics pathology. In 2021, she joined the team of Roberto Barrero within eResearch at QUT. During her time at QUT, she has been involved in the implementation and validation of bioinformatics tools for the detection of viruses and viroids, enabling the post-entry quarantine facility to screen plants being imported into Australia using next generation sequencing. Her work has been funded by Horticulture Innovation Australia (HIA), the Australian Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF) and Australian BioCommons.

Additional information

Dr Gauthier was a guest speaker in the Early Entry Program (EEP) ‘Industry and Careers’ organised by the Faculty of Science at the University of Adelaide in 2017. She was also a career panel guest speaker and a poster judge at the COMBINE conference in Adelaide in 2017.
