Enzymes allow chemical reactions to occur within living cells under conditions that are compatible with life on earth. The power of enzymes to lower energy barriers and control reaction specificity has led their deployment in food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and chemical manufacturing industries. We study enzymes to identify new opportunities to change chemical industries to be cleaner, greener, and more profitable.
Our research spans fundamental characterisation, AI-guided interpretation of structure-function relationships, re-engineering functions, and development of scalable enzyme-driven technologies.
