PhD Student Naomi Paxton was delighted to attend the SAGE 2017 symposium, held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 5th. The event featured speeches and panels discussing the challenges in changing the culture in STEMM to improve geneder equality and diversity, the value of equality and how we can take action to embed equality and diversity strategies in organisations around Australia.
“I particularly enjoyed the closing address from UTS MSc Student Emily Smyth who shared with the audience her aspirations to be a #STEMMINIST. I was proud to represent the BTM group at the event and I am grateful to be a member of such a wonderfully multicultural research group with strong female role models and leaders.” – Naomi
