Industrial Automation Students Bioprinter (EGB436)

This semester, Students from the EGB436 Industrial Automation unit have developed the BioRoo bioprinter!

In just 12 weeks, these students have worked alongside members of the BTM team, supervised by Matt Lanaro, to design, develop and construct a fully functioning customised bioprinter. This 3D bioprinter is capable of depositing bioinks into complex 3D patterns to create customised tissue engineering scaffolds based on a 3D design which the students save onto an SD card before inserting this into the machine and printing the 3D object.

With only a small budget, the students have fully designed and built the printer in just a few short weeks – a massive achievement!

Congratulations to all!
